Corinth Pipeworks to supply DESFA’s “Duplication of Karperi - Komotini HP Branch” project

Cenergy Holdings announces that Corinth Pipeworks, its steel pipes segment, was awarded a major contract by DESFA (Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator) for the manufacture and supply of steel pipes for the “Duplication of Karperi–Komotini High-Pressure Branch” Project, a significant energy infrastructure investment currently underway in Greece.
Under the scope of the project, Corinth Pipeworks will manufacture and supply more than 200km of 30-inch Helical Submerged Arc Welded (HSAW) linepipe, which will contribute to the development of a new parallel high-pressure transmission network designed to enhance the capacity, flexibility and resilience of Greece’s National Natural Gas Transmission Systems.
The pipes will be manufactured at Corinth Pipeworks’ state-of-the-art facilities in Thisvi, Greece, and will be supplied with external 3-layer polyethylene (3LPE) anti-corrosion coating and internal epoxy lining.
A key feature of the project is the hydrogen-ready design, enabling the pipeline system to support the transportation of up to 100% pure hydrogen, supporting Greece’s and Europe’s transition towards cleaner energy solutions.
The “Duplication of Karperi–Komotini High-Pressure Branch” represents a strategic infrastructure project for Greece. The new 218,5km parallel network will help eliminate capacity constraints in the northern section of the National Natural Gas Transmission System, strengthen energy security, enable increased regional interconnections, including exports towards the Interconnector Greece–Bulgaria (IGB), and support the growing energy needs of the region
