Cenergy Holdings announces that Hellenic Cables, its cables segment, was awarded, through its wholly owned subsidiary Fulgor S.A., a turnkey contract by the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) of the 320kV HVDC electrical interconnection between Corinth and Kos island in Greece, of a total value of approx. EUR 1.5 billion.

The project consists of approximately 1,260km of submarine cables and 30km of underground cables for the Corinth–Kos electrical interconnection. The project is expected to commence in Q4 2026, and project completion is scheduled for 2030.

Hellenic Cables, through its wholly owned subsidiary Fulgor S.A., is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the project (from converter station to converter station) and will manufacture the HVDC power cables at its facilities in Corinth and Thiva (Greece).

The Corinth–Kos interconnection is a strategic project which will enable the connection of the Dodecanese islands to Greece's mainland transmission system.  With a total power transmission of 1 GW, it will enable the gradual decommissioning of costly and carbon-intensive oil-fired power stations while significantly enhancing the security and reliability of electricity supply.

The signing of the contract is subject to customary statutory conditions and approvals.
Alexios Alexiou, CEO of Cenergy Holdings, commented: "Projects such as the Corinth–Kos interconnection demonstrate the increasing importance of advanced HVDC technology in developing resilient networks and supporting the energy transition.  We are proud to support IPTO’s strategic vision for a stronger and more interconnected national transmission system by contributing our expertise and execution capabilities to this landmark project for Greece."
